Since 2002, the Plant High School football team has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, earning the Hillsborough County Highest Team GPA Award multiple times. The team claimed this honor in the following years:

• 2002–2003 with a GPA of 3.032

• 2007–2008 with a GPA of 3.120

• 2008–2009 with a GPA of 3.376

• 2009–2010 with a GPA of 3.191

• 2010–2011 with a GPA of 3.107

• 2011–2012 with a GPA of 3.134

• 2020–2021 with a GPA of 3.412

• 2021–2022 with the highest team GPA in program history: 3.573

 

In addition to county recognition, the 2021–2022 team was also honored with the 2022 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) 2nd Highest GPA in the State, further underscoring the program’s statewide academic excellence.

 

In recent years, the team continued its strong academic performance with a 3.228 GPA in 2023 and a 3.054 GPA in 2024. This sustained success highlights Plant Football’s dedication to excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
